A home of your own,

A place to flourish

The world needs more homes. What drives us is not just how many we build, but the lives they make possible.

Mission

For generations, flourishing towns offered homes with character, land ownership, green spaces, and the things people needed just around the corner. At the center was a place to worship, trade, and share life. These places had soul.

Too much of what’s built today has lost that spirit. Homes, commerce, and capital are optimized separately for short-term results, not planned together for the lasting benefit of the people who live there.

Hometown brings these pieces together in a system built around people. These connections form the roots of places people love, where families can build equity and local economies can grow.

The places we build shape the lives people can build.

About

Hometown Equity is building a company that integrates land, homes, local services, commerce, and financial services, starting in Mexico. We are backed by long-term investors, including CEOs who have run major international retail businesses, real estate investors, homebuilding leaders, fintech and technology innovators, and impact investment managers.

Our entrepreneurial team brings experience from real estate private equity, executive leadership in homebuilding, architecture, and senior roles at Infonavit. Our CEO, Brett Hagler, co-founded New Story, named four times among Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies in the World.” Our team’s prior work has been supported by Y Combinator, Goldman Sachs, and Praxis and featured on Apple TV+.

Hometown grew from a decade of work in markets overlooked by large developers and traditional banks. Families have saved and sacrificed, and they’re ready for a home they’re proud to own. What’s missing isn’t demand, but the formal structure connecting housing, financing, and opportunity. We’re building that structure so families and local economies can thrive.
